COSTA RICA COASTS & MOUNTAINS FROM $830

Day 1: San José

Upon arrival a representative of Coasts & Mountains Adventures will meet you at the International Airport Juan Santamaría, to take you to the hotel.

Overnight in Quality Real San José.


Day 2: San José - Arenal

After breakfast our guide will pick you up to take you to the Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes of the world. The country's most active volcano, Arenal's eruptions are strombolian in type, being frequent but moderate and can be viewed without danger as long as the viewers are behind the safety perimeter. This constant activity and minimal endangerment makes Arenal a popular tourist destination, especially at night, because the lava and incandescent rocks make a spectacular sight.

In the afternoon check in at the hotel and leisure time to enjoy the Arenal Volcano.

Overnight in La Cangreja Lodge. Meals: B, L, D


Day 3: Arenal Volcano National Park

Pick up and transfer to the Arenal Volcano and hike at El Silencio lookout point to reach an old Lava flow trail in the boundaries of the National Park. Mirador El Silencio Reserve has 4 trails located in a 556‐acre property, with 247 acres of old growth forest, where a wide variety of animals in their natural habitat can be watched. The Forest’s varied vegetation include majestic trees such as Ceibo and the trumpet‐tree or Guarumo, where a wide‐range of birds nest. Located just opposite of the impressive Arenal Volcano, the Reserve is the best lava observation point, which together with a wide variety of local fauna, bird watching possibilities and trails make this an unforgettable experience.

In the afternoon you can take an optional tour to the La Fortuna Waterfall or hanging bridges. In the evening you can take an optional tour to the hot springs.

Overnight in La Cangreja Lodge. Meals: B, L, D

Day 4: Arenal - Guanacaste Beaches

In the morning you will be transferred to the Guanacaste Beaches and enjoy all the attractions that this area offers.

Day 6: Guanacaste – San José

During the morning you will have a leisure time. In the afternoon we will transfer to San José for overnight.

Day 7: International Airport.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 7: Guanacaste Beaches ‐ Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve

During the morning you will have a leisure time. In the afternoon we will transfer to Monteverde area. Evening at leisure.

Overnight at Hotel Finca Valverdes. Meals: B

Day 8: Monteverde

Morning tour to Zip line Tour (Sky Trek). Sky Trek is a system of zip lines ranging from mountain to mountain, which together have a distance of 2.5 miles of linear cable. The tour gives you the opportunity to fly through a cable and have a unique experience of adventure and adrenaline at speeds up to 40 miles per hour with distances ranging up to 2500 feet and heights of 524 feet. In addition the tour offers 5 observation towers that exceed the cloud forest treetops providing a panoramic view. All with total security and in an innovative braking system. The tour starts with the Sky Tram that will lead you up to the Continental Divide.

In the afternoon optional visit to Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. Straddling the Continental Divide at 1440 meters (4662 ft), the Santa Elena and Monteverde Cloud Forest area offers one of the most interesting places to visit in Costa Rica. In Monteverde Cloud forest, Costa Rica rain forest are found more than 100 species of mammals including 5 species of cats, over 400 species of birds including 30 kinds of hummingbirds, tens of thousands of insect species (over 5000 species of moths) and 2,500 species of plants (420 kinds of orchids). The area is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the New World Tropics.

In the evening you can take an optional tour Twilight Walk

Overnight at Hotel Finca Valverdes. Meals: B

Day 9: Monteverde – San José

During the morning you will have a leisure time. In the afternoon we will transfer to San José for overnight.

Day 10: International Airport.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
